Icon for Hire at The Vanguard - OK

Some concerts grab you first with volume, then stay with you because the lyrics keep working on you afterward. Icon for Hire brings that kind of pull to The Vanguard on November 11, 2026 at 7:00 PM, and Tulsa listeners who like their rock direct, intense, and emotionally honest have a clear reason to pay attention. For a shared night out with a friend who likes this genre, it offers a strong mix of muscle and meaning in one room.

Centered on vocalist Ariel Bloomer and guitarist Shawn Jump, the band has built its identity around aggressive guitar energy and writing that speaks plainly about mental health, identity, and resilience. That combination gives their music a specific edge: it can hit hard without losing the human voice at the center of it. Formed in Decatur, Illinois in 2007, Icon for Hire also earned a loyal following through early Midwest touring and direct fan community efforts, which helps explain why their connection with listeners feels personal rather than distant.

Their debut full-length album, Scripted, arrived in 2011 on Tooth & Nail Records, and the band has been clear that it does not identify as a Christian rock band, even when some songs touch on spiritual themes. That makes the music easy to approach from different angles, whether you come for the riffs, the candor, or the way the lyrics turn frustration into something more resilient. Among Tulsa concert listings, this one stands out for anyone who wants a rock show with a sharp point of view.
