Tulsa Golden Hurricane vs. Charlotte 49ers

Tulsa Golden Hurricane vs. Charlotte 49ers at Skelly Field at H.A. Chapman Stadium

Saturday, November 21, 2026 brings college football to Skelly Field at H.A. Chapman Stadium in Tulsa, where the Tulsa Golden Hurricane meet the Charlotte 49ers. That late-November date has an easy appeal: one game, one campus setting, and the steady pull of live football shaping the weekend around it.

Part of the draw here is Charlotte's relatively recent rise. The program began in 2013, moved to FBS in 2015, and joined the American Athletic Conference in 2023, so this matchup carries the energy of a team still writing its identity at the top level. The 49ers nickname connects to the importance of 1949, and the mascot, Norm the Niner, is described as a gold miner by trade. Those details give Charlotte a memorable personality that stands out before anyone even lines up for the first snap. Following a younger program offers another point of interest: watching an identity develop through new opponents, different venues and the choices that shape each game.

For anyone browsing sports outings in Tulsa, this is a straightforward way to lock in a fall Saturday with conference football and a familiar local venue. College games have a way of making the simplest details matter: field position, momentum, and the rhythm of two teams trying to assert themselves over four quarters. If you enjoy sports that feel immediate and local while still carrying broader conference context, this one deserves a close look.
