Where Cherry Street is

Cherry Street is the familiar name for this part of East 15th Street, with the Peoria-to-Utica stretch a useful starting point for visitors. Look for the storefronts and restaurants along the corridor, with residential streets just behind them.

If you’ve been exploring downtown museums or the Arts District, treat Cherry Street as a separate stop. The neighborhood has its own mix of businesses; a downtown restaurant with “Cherry Street” in its name is not necessarily on this stretch of 15th.

Browse books, gifts and home goods

Peace of Mind Bookstore has been on Cherry Street since 1975. Its shelves focus on metaphysical and spiritual subjects, with gifts, crystals and incense alongside books.

Modern Cottage is another place to browse for gifts and items for the home. Its current online selection includes candles, picture frames, accessories and plush toys, though the shop encourages visitors to see the fuller collection in person.

Check shop hours before making a shopping-led visit. A restaurant-filled street can still be lively after some retailers have closed, so do the browsing first if that is your priority.

Choose a meal that fits the visit

Cow & Cabbage combines a specialty market with a cafe at 1325 E 15th Street, Suite 107. Its market and dining services have different schedules: counter-service lunch is listed Tuesday–Friday, Saturday has brunch, and dinner runs Tuesday–Saturday. Check the current times before choosing it for a particular meal.

For a different kind of sit-down meal, Visit Tulsa highlights Prossimo for Italian food and Kilkenny’s for Irish pub dining. Pick the style of meal you want, then check the restaurant’s current menu and reservation arrangements.

If you have an evening event elsewhere in Tulsa, leave enough time for your meal and the trip to the venue.

Make a coffee stop part of the walk

Summer Moon’s Cherry Street shop is at 1520 E 15th Street. It serves oak-roasted coffee and its signature sweet cream Moon Milk, with indoor seating and breakfast options. That makes it a straightforward starting point if you want coffee before looking around.

Summer Moon also offers a drive-thru and online ordering if you want coffee without a longer neighborhood stop.

Walking and parking on Cherry Street

Choose a legal on-street space or a lot authorized for the business you’re visiting, and read the signs before leaving the car. A customer lot for one business should not be treated as unrestricted neighborhood parking.

Explore using the sidewalks and marked crossings. Watch for cars entering or leaving lots and take your time at driveways. If you need a step-free entrance, check with the particular shop or restaurant; older storefronts can have different approaches.

For a car-free visit, use MetroLink’s current trip planner and service alerts. Enter your actual starting point and destination, and check the return trip as well.

What to pair with Cherry Street

Pair Cherry Street with a separate visit to Mother Road Market on Route 66, or choose an attraction elsewhere in Tulsa and return here for dinner.

Two useful starting points

The map marks two businesses on Cherry Street as starting points, not a single entrance to the neighborhood.
