Getting Around Downtown Tulsa Without a Car

Explore one downtown area at a time: the Arts District for a Cain’s show, Greenwood for a ballgame, or the arena area for BOK Center. Walk between nearby stops and use MetroLink or a ride for journeys that stretch beyond your plans.

The short answer

Use walking directions for nearby stops, Route 700 AERO for the Peoria corridor and MicroLink only where its zones and hours cover your trip. For an evening event, check the journey home before leaving your hotel. Airport transfers need their own plan.

Keep Nearby Stops Together

For an Arts District concert, group stops around Cain’s and Guthrie Green, or plan a Greenwood outing around ONEOK Field. BOK Center and TPAC have different entrances, so use directions to the venue rather than a straight line across the map.

Check the walk both ways and use pedestrian crossings. Construction, weather, luggage and mobility needs may change the route you choose; arrange a ride or ask about step-free entry where needed.

Find Your Destination on the Map

Select the venue you are visiting and use it to plan the walk or transit trip.

Choose your destination, then check pedestrian or transit directions to the entrance you need.

Find the MetroLink service for your trip

Route 700 AERO serves the Peoria corridor. Check the weekday, Saturday or Sunday timetable for your trip, along with the stop, direction and any service alerts.

MicroLink has separate daytime, nighttime and Sunday zones. Nighttime zones 1–7 run Monday–Saturday, 8 PM–midnight. Check that both ends of your trip are eligible and confirm the ride before relying on it after a concert.

For accessible transport, check LinkAssist and contact MetroLink about your arrangements. Ask how to get from the stop to the venue entrance as well as about the ride itself.

Pickups and scooters need their own plan

At BOK Center, meet rideshare on 1st Street between Denver and Cheyenne. For other venues, check their pickup instructions or agree on a legal meeting point with your driver.

Scooters cannot be ridden on downtown sidewalks inside the Inner Dispersal Loop. Check the app for availability and permitted parking, and make a separate plan if you have luggage, access needs or a late journey home.

Treat the airport transfer as a separate journey

Arrange the airport-to-hotel leg before you arrive. Uber’s TUL guidance directs riders to the app’s current pickup instructions and designated areas; fares and driver availability depend on the trip.

Check whether the service actually connects the airport to your destination. MetroLink lists the airport in MicroLink zone 1; check that the service covers your starting point and runs when you need it. Confirm the specific itinerary, or arrange another transfer.

Plan a Manageable Day Without Driving

  1. Choose one anchor: a ballgame, an Arts District concert or a TPAC performance. Save that venue’s entrance information.

  2. Add a nearby meal and one daytime stop in the same area. Check opening hours separately rather than relying on a fixed sample timetable.

  3. Confirm the return trip before the event starts. Keep the hotel address, phone battery and a backup pickup plan available.

  4. If the route feels like too much for your group, shorten the day’s plans or arrange a ride. Check the last bus before relying on it.
