Les Miserables

Les Miserables at Williams Theatre at Tulsa Performing Arts Center

A sweeping story of hope, justice, and second chances is coming to Williams Theatre at Tulsa Performing Arts Center on January 8, 2027 at 8:00 PM, and Theatre Tulsa's Les Misérables has the kind of emotional pull that can make a winter night feel bigger than routine. Set inside an intimate 421-seat house, this production brings one of musical theatre's most enduring dramas into a space where every turn of the story can land close and clear.

What gives this title its staying power is the combination of epic scale and human detail. Based on Victor Hugo's novel, Les Misérables centers on Jean Valjean and Inspector Javert, tracing a 19th-century redemption story that keeps moving between moral pressure and deeply personal stakes. With music by Claude-Michel Schönberg, lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer, and book by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg, the show has become a landmark for audiences who want a musical with serious dramatic weight and melodies that linger. It is also part of Theatre Tulsa's Broadway Series and its locally produced musical lineup, which makes it a strong pick for anyone who enjoys seeing a major work staged by a company with deep roots in the community.

Theatre Tulsa identifies itself as Oklahoma's largest and longest-running non-profit theatre company, and that background adds another layer of appeal here: this is a chance to see a familiar classic through a local lens inside one of the city's most focused performance spaces. If you are looking for Tulsa theatre that offers drama, scale, and a strong story to sink into, this is a date worth circling. Browse the ticket listings and see how this production fits your plans.
