Les Miserables

Les Miserables at Williams Theatre at Tulsa Performing Arts Center

At Williams Theatre at Tulsa Performing Arts Center, Les Misérables lands in an intimate 421-seat space that can make a huge story feel personal. Theatre Tulsa presents the musical in Tulsa theatre on January 16, 2027 at 2:00 PM, giving a winter afternoon an immediate reason to center on the stage.

Based on Victor Hugo's novel, the show follows Jean Valjean and Inspector Javert through an epic 19th-century redemption story. That core conflict still pulls in audiences because it mixes pursuit, mercy, justice, and survival in a way that stays emotionally direct. Add music by Claude-Michel Schönberg, lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer, and a book by Alain Boublil and Schönberg, and you get a work that has remained one of the most recognizable titles in musical theatre for good reason. People drawn to strong character drama and big theatrical feeling will find plenty to engage with here.

This production also carries the identity of Theatre Tulsa, which presents it as part of its Broadway Series and locally produced musical lineup. The company identifies itself as Oklahoma's largest and longest-running non-profit theatre company, which gives the event a clear community connection alongside its familiar title. That blend can appeal to anyone who enjoys seeing a well-known musical interpreted through a local presenting tradition rather than a distant touring stop.

If you are choosing a January outing built around a classic stage story, this performance offers a focused and accessible way to spend the afternoon. Take a look at the ticket listings for Les Misérables and see where it fits.
